I was watching a podcast, and a member of the House of Representatives was talking about the new Nigerian tax law and he referenced Honourable Dasuki from Sokoto State.
Honourable Dasuki noticed and alleged that the bill sent to the President for signature was different from the one in circulation — the copy that he bought. He alleged that there are three different copies, three different versions of the same bill that the President signed. That between sending the bill to the President and the President signing it, some people removed certain portions and inserted their own versions — or between signing and publication, parts were removed and others inserted.
Now, if that was what was agreed upon by both chambers of the legislature, there is nothing wrong with widening the tax net. But to go back and change what was agreed upon and signed by the President is a criminal act It is forgery. Some people even allege it is treasonous. You are subverting the will of the representatives of the people.
So now we have: The King James Version, The New Living Translation, and the Amplified Version of the tax law But this shows that there is the hand of Jacob in the administration of this country. The hand of Jacob is the hand of deceit, desperation, and manipulation.
Amnesty was granted by the President, and suddenly there was an outcry. The list had to be reviewed. Some names were removed. Who put those names? Did the President read the list? Who are the advisers of the President? This is not peculiar to this administration.
It has happened over the years.
There are manipulators in the system. Another issue was the ambassadorial list. I saw somewhere that the list was reshuffled or scuttled. There was the name of someone who had died. Someone who had gone to glory He wants to be our ambassador in heaven. Maybe all the prayers and prophecies we pray — maybe we need another intercessor that will tell Jesus what we really want.
These wicked hands of Jacob manipulating decisions — God will amputate those hands and disgrace them tragically. Nothing will come out of this issue. It will be swept under the carpet — just like “Off the Mic”, 53 suitcases during Buhari’s first tenure, and many other issues. We tolerate nonsense and pursue shadows When will we stop being criminal-minded?
Honestly, I feel very discouraged about this country Very discouraged. Don’t call me and say “Break Nigeria.” You’ll be shocked that those who did this evil are from your area. Money influenced them. Thank God it was someone from Sokoto State who raised the alarm. If it were some people, they would collect money and keep quiet.
It is sad. Very sad. Simple question before I end: All the money they collected under the former tax laws — were they not thieves then? Did they not steal it?
Governors carried trillions. One carried ₦80 billion. Attorney General allegedly embezzled money. So are they expanding this net so they can steal more?
A day is coming. Things will not continue like this forever
