The “ratel president,” VeryDarkMan, was in Maiduguri to visit the scenes of the three bomb blasts.
He visited the marketplace, another busy junction, and the teaching hospital. The aim of those wicked, evil men was to cause maximum damage — such that when there is carnage and people rush to the hospital, they would detonate another explosive device to affect doctors, nurses, relatives, and bystanders.
Thank God for the alert security man who prevented the tricycle from entering the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
I want to commend VeryDarkMan for his sense of humanity, responsibility, and patriotism. He is the age mate of my last child.
I have always said that if people like me did what he is doing now, this nation would not be where we are today.
He was in Rivers State, in collaboration with Burna Boy, to build a school befitting an oil-producing community. A young girl raised an alarm about that building, and the local government chairman allegedly went to traumatise her. We must be careful, because sometimes people turn around to apologise after we have stood for them — particularly females.
VeryDarkMan, within a day, showed the kind of work they did there. He took the risk of going deep into Burna Boy’s village, far into the bush, and the people came out to embrace him.
Meanwhile, as the “ratel president” is visiting Maiduguri and doing what local government and state authorities should have done, the real president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is in the United Kingdom visiting the King. He is there to negotiate on our behalf, to bring back deals, and to cement bilateral agreements with the British Crown.
I pray that he has a wonderful time there, seeing a developed and organized society, so that when he returns, he will implement some of the things he has seen.
I wish him a comfortable stay and a safe journey back home, together with the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, who recently had a visit to Warri.
This is a serious matter. May God sustain the families of those who lost their lives.
I wish those who are injured a speedy recovery. I also pray for VeryDarkMan, his generation, and all men of goodwill. Omoyele Sowore, and the lawyer who was told to kneel down in court — courts don turn into juju house.
I commend every other young man fighting for the future of this country that my generation destroyed. Something good was handed over to us, and we destroyed it. If you cannot commend them, do not condemn them. These young men are risking their lives and spending their resources.
I pray that more young people will develop common sense, integrity, and patriotism to undo the damage caused by the political bandits of my generation.
