There is only one thing more precious than our time and that is what we spend it on. Remember; there is time for everything. Today, I’m coming to you from the permanent site of “Petra Christian Academy” a testament to the power of starting early and staying consistent.
The Power of Early Beginnings: We began building this place when I was 40 years old. Today, I am 65. The Bible says, “Take up the yoke in your youth.” The resources my wife and I invested in this project have yielded fruitful returns. Meanwhile, others spent their resources on transient pleasures—drinking, frivolous spending, and fleeting luxuries. Those expenditures are long gone, but our investments continue to bear fruit.
Set Your Direction Early: Setting your direction early in life is crucial. Ask yourself what kind of life you want to live when you get older and start working towards it now. If I were to start building Petra Christian Academy today, the cost would be astronomical. Prices will never come down; they will only rise. So, the best time to start is now.
Embrace the Journey: My wife wisely says, “The best way to start is to start.” It’s what you start that gets finished. This site used to be a pond with water reaching up to here, but we weren’t afraid to start because of the obstacles. Critics and commentators were plentiful, but we remained focused and consistent. Today, Petra Christian Academy stands as a symbol of our perseverance and vision.
Consistency is Key: Building something meaningful takes time and effort. It requires taking up the yoke when you are young and being consistent in the pursuit of your dream. No matter the challenges or the naysayers, your persistence will pay off.
