Hello, friends. I’m Dr. Charles Apoki. Today, I want to share a transformative message: how one right turn, fueled by mercy, can reprogram your life.
The Power of Choices
Life is a series of choices, and those choices define your destiny. Ecclesiastes 9:11 reminds us that “the race is not for the swift… but time and chance happen to them all.” Opportunities abound, but what you make of them depends on the decisions you take.
The woman with the issue of blood in the Bible had suffered for years, enduring countless failed treatments. However, she made one intentional decision: “If I can touch the hem of His garment, I will be made whole.” That single, deliberate act changed her story. Despite societal and religious restrictions, mercy met her at her point of faith.
Mercy and Divine Alignment
Mercy, or hesed in Hebrew, goes beyond unmerited favor. It’s God’s intervention that restores what’s lost or broken. Just one cry for mercy can reset your life. Blind Bartimaeus understood this when he cried out, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” That single act of persistence turned his life around.
When you cry out for mercy and take the right turn, God realigns your path. Naomi and Ruth’s story is a powerful illustration. Despite setbacks, Ruth declared her loyalty and took a decisive turn toward Bethlehem. Her decision to follow Naomi led her to Boaz, her destiny helper. Through this lineage came David and, ultimately, Jesus Christ.
Avoiding Wrong Turns
While one right turn can change your life, a wrong turn can lead to ruin. I once heard of a young man wrongly accused and jailed because of one poor association. Similarly, relationships, religion, and routine can trap you in the wrong direction if you’re not intentional about breaking free.
I have also experienced this firsthand. For years, I followed a conventional path, practicing medicine and running a hospital. But I realized I was on the wrong road. The day I turned back to my original purpose—teaching, inspiring, and empowering people—my life changed.
The Importance of Divine Guidance
God’s plans are always better than ours. When an aircraft deviates even slightly from its GPS path, it risks getting lost. The same applies to life. To stay aligned with God’s purpose, you must:
- Seek inspiration and intuition – Pay attention to inner nudges from the Holy Spirit.
- Make intentional decisions – Pursue goals aligned with your destiny.
- Surround yourself with the right people – Avoid relationships and habits that derail you.
Practical Lessons
- Acknowledge Mercy: Cry out for mercy in areas of struggle. God’s mercy can restore what seems lost.
- Take Inspired Action: Like Ruth, declare and act with purpose.
- Be Open to Realignment: If you’ve missed a turn, it’s never too late to get back on track.
One right person, one right connection, or one right decision can propel you to your next level. For me, starting a YouTube channel during the pandemic was one such turn. Today, I’ve reached millions globally, all from one simple yet deliberate choice.
