By the grace of God, we were able to acquire some hectares of land. The natural tendency is to think that I bought all of this at once. But no, the truth is, success and achievement need to be broken down to their molecular levels so people can digest, assimilate the principles, and apply them.
The Journey Begins:
How did we manage to buy all this land? I’m not a politician, I don’t run a church, I don’t do contracts, and I don’t travel overseas to make money from preaching. My success in real estate began with a single piece of property.
I bought my first piece of property for 700,000 Naira some years back. After a few years, I sold it for 2.1 million Naira. This money, which I call the “linear expansivity of money,” was what I used to buy the first 13 acres here.
The Principle of Gradualism:
One of the key principles I applied was gradualism. When I came to price a property, they would tell me a price. I would then go to preach, write books, get honorariums, and sell CDs. I would come back and pay part of the price, give the person some dates, and then come back later to pay the rest.
I also used spiritual and biblical principles. Wherever your feet shall step upon shall be yours. I walked through this land with Solomon, Marcos A., Ado, and one other pastor whose name I can’t vividly remember now. We would go around, possessing the land, step by step.
Reinvesting Consistently:
Reinvesting money on a consistent basis is another crucial principle. It wasn’t easy; America wasn’t built in a day. We had to gradually cut down the trees, sell the firewood, and use the money to pay the motoa man who felled the woods. Piece by piece, we cleared the land, surveyed it, and started building.
Building Gradually:
If you turn around, you’ll see we are gradually building this block. It has been a project for three years. I don’t want to stress myself, but by the grace of God, we will roof it this year and start making it functional. It’s a gradual process—piece by piece.
Patience and Persistence:
This generation of young people is often too desperate. You see Dangote, and you want to be like Dangote. You see Davido, and you want to be like Davido. You see Obi Cubana, and you want to be like Obi Cubana. These people took time to grow gradually. If you don’t grow gradually, you will crash suddenly.
God bless you.
