I recently went for a service of songs for a very good friend. One thing I’ve been reflecting on is this: the world will move on without you. The world will move on. But there are things you can leave behind. There are legacies you can leave behind.
Number one, make a Mark. Number two, make a Memory. Leave memories in the hearts of people. Number three, generate Momentum. Build something that continues even after you are gone.
Number four, make Money — in the sense that you can leave a legacy behind for your children and your children’s children. The Bible specifies it clearly, that a righteous man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.
But let me say this. If you come from a country like Nigeria, no matter how rich you are, if the social infrastructure is poor, you are a poor man.
You can die without a proper diagnosis or proper treatment being made. No matter how rich you are.
If you leave the country for medical treatment, you are still seen as somebody from an underdeveloped country.
No matter how rich you are, when you reach some airports, they will tell you to go and join a queue, while people from developed countries form another line.
Why? Because the poverty of social infrastructure is a measurement of your own poverty. And the excellence of social infrastructure and services is a measurement of your own excellence. This is why developing our medical facilities , hospitals, roads is a serious matter.
