I am your friend, Dr. Charles Apoki. There are very disturbing occurrences in the global arena concerning Nigeria that are avoidable. There is a news report about Dr. Tony Perkins denying our First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, audience on his platform and program. I don’t understand those who are packaging our leaders.
Senator Remi Tinubu was just described by Donald Trump as an honourable woman, and I heard that a senator even went to meet the president to congratulate him for such comments made by the US president. Have we gone so low as a nation?
This is Nigeria, the pride of Africa in those days. The nation that has about 20% of the black race. One out of every five black human beings in the world is a Nigerian. So why have we reduced ourselves to this level where our First Lady will be denied audience by a TV host or program host?
I was listening to him and Representative Chris Smith, a Republican from New Jersey. He said he denied our First Lady the use of his platform to cover up lies. What a derogatory statement.
First of all, our First Lady did not need to go on that journey. If you have approval from your citizens, applause from your citizens, and promotion from your citizens, you don’t need approval from Donald Trump, whose approval rating is very low in the United States as of now in some key areas.
So why is it that we need to travel to the United States to deny genocide against Christians?
Let us even look at the logic.
Nobody is saying that Tinubu’s administration is promoting genocide against Christians. Nobody is saying that Muslims are not being killed. What people are saying is that Christians are being brutalized by radical Islamist terrorists, who are also brutalizing moderate, non-radical Islamic believers.
If you as Muslims don’t value the lives of your members who are being brutalized by radical Islamist terrorists, we the Christians, and Christian leaders in America, do not want Christians to be brutalized by Muslim terrorists in the name of religion or whatever.
It is not that the federal government is directly responsible, but truth be told, there are key political leaders who are sympathizers to these terrorists who are attacking Christians.
And since some elite Muslim scholars and politicians are saying that the terrorists are their people, their sons, and their brothers, and they cannot deny them, one of them from one of the states even said that it is both perceived and true that Christians are being targeted by these extremist Muslims.
That does not deny the freedom of religion that is in our constitution.
By attempting to send our First Lady, who is a pastor in one of the biggest churches in Nigeria according to Donald Trump, it is a wrong calculation. You are abusing the office of the First Lady and her faith as a pastor, and you are bringing her church to disrepute.
You should have applied Elisha’s principle.
Elisha did not talk with the Shunammite woman directly, the rich woman. He was always speaking to her through Gehazi until the woman came on her own to meet Elisha. Elisha even sent Gehazi to go and wait for her, and sent him to go and put his staff on the dead child.
When the king of Syria sent Naaman to meet Elisha, Elisha did not come out to meet him. He sent Gehazi to tell his servants to go and take a bath in the river. He did not come out.
We should learn to respect our First Lady and our President.
Don’t send her on errands that somebody like Bianca could have gone for, Abike Dabiri could have gone for, or the Minister for Information or External Affairs could have gone for.
What did she need to go and do again when America is already cooperating with Nigeria to end these Islamic radical terrorists?
What is she going to do again when the American African Central Command commander has already come to visit our president? Ideally, he should not even visit our president directly. He should visit our Minister for Defence.
We know how to reduce ourselves to a level where other nations don’t take us seriously.
And what are you going to defend in America when, on the 6th of February, just a few days back, a Catholic priest was abducted with other people in Kaduna State?
How are you going to defend that?
It is also true that a Fulani leader and a chief imam were abducted on the 6th of February 2026. But the fact that a Fulani leader and a chief imam were abducted does not negate the fact that Christians are also being targeted.
That your house caught fire does not mean that I cannot complain that my own house caught fire too. It is up to you to value your house, and up to me to value my own house.
So this running around trying to cover up truth and reality is not fair.
I feel sad that our First Lady can be subjected to such treatment. I don’t like it. I personally don’t like it.
Mommy, I beg, no waka that kind way again. Don’t mind people when they say they spent millions to go and lobby. No go again. Make we stay inside Nigeria here, protect our people, take care of our people, and deal with these terrorists.
You don’t need to go to America to beg. There are better things to do. Whether Donald Trump praises you or not, it doesn’t matter. We value you.
Dr. Charles Apoki is still my name.
If you don’t understand me, forget about it.
I have a webinar coming up. Send a message.
You see, as I do now. You cannot call me directly. We package ourselves and respect ourselves like Elisha did. Over-availability reduces value.
Mommy, no go again.
God bless Nigeria.
