I am your friend, Dr. Charles Apoki. Today, I want to address a common mistake that some men make in relationships and marriages.
When God gave Adam the Garden of Eden, Eve was not there. When He commanded Adam to tend and keep the garden, Eve was not there. It was only after this commandment that Eve was created to help Adam. This order of events is significant.
If you have an enterprising wife, do not rest on your oars. Be even more enterprising and productive than she is. Do not depend on her for everything; otherwise, you will lose her respect. It is important to earn and maintain the respect of your wife by being a man of vision and productivity. Do not become a parasite to your wife.
Men were designed to be the administrators of the earth, and women were created as helpers. That means it is your responsibility as a man to take care of the basic needs of your household. However, many men, when they see a hardworking woman, assume that they can simply rely on her earnings and contributions without making any effort of their own. This is a mistake. A man should always contribute his fair share and allow his wife to take pride in his productivity.
At the same time, women who are highly enterprising must learn to remain humble. Do not lord your success over your husband. True success in marriage comes from collective productivity and unity. When both partners work together with humility and respect, the family will flourish.
Men, it takes extra wisdom and grace to marry and manage a hardworking, enterprising, and determined wife. Be a leader, not a burden. Support her, but also ensure that you are contributing meaningfully to the home.
I remain your friend, Dr. Charles Apoki. God bless you.
