I want to speak about family, challenges, and resilience. No family is perfect, no couple lives without disagreements, and no child grows up without testing their parents’ patience. What defines a family is not the absence of challenges but the commitment to navigate them together.
The Reality of Family Struggles
It’s easy to admire people’s successes on social media or in public spaces, but the real story often lies in the struggles behind the scenes. Just like honey, which is sweet and pure in a jar, you may not realize the effort and challenges involved in its production. Similarly, behind every family’s success lies pain, perseverance, and prayer.
My family and I are no exception. I have chosen to share my life openly, not to boast but to encourage others navigating similar paths. If my story inspires you, take courage. If my experiences serve as a cautionary tale, make adjustments in your own journey.
Battling for Our Son
I recently shared the joy of welcoming another grandchild into the Apoki family. However, behind this joy is a story of struggle. My son, Dr. AI, was born with a cleft lip and palate. This was a traumatic experience for my wife and me. Church people abandoned us, and many used our predicament to gossip.
But amidst the storm, God sent helpers. A woman, Mrs. Theresa Usoh, prophesied over my son, declaring greatness over his life. My father in the Lord, Reverend John Osiomara, encouraged us to prophesy what we desired for him. Despite the pain, surgeries, and social stigma, we refused to give up on our son.
My wife endured sleepless nights, even sleeping outside hospital wards while our son underwent multiple surgeries. Seven surgeries later, including procedures for speech and sinus issues, he emerged strong. Today, he is not only a PhD holder but also a successful entrepreneur and author. He overcame academic setbacks, health challenges, and societal expectations.
Never Throw Away Your Seed
The struggles we faced with our son strengthened our resolve. Today, he and his wife—a medical doctor—are parents to two beautiful children. The joy of holding my granddaughter is a testament to God’s faithfulness. The pain was worth it.
Every child is a seed. Never abandon your children because of challenges. As a single mother or father, the struggles you endure to raise your children will yield fruit. Keep investing in them, even when it seems difficult. Remember, the devil often targets the children of those committed to doing God’s work.
Celebrate the Journey
Looking back, I celebrate the little victories and the big wins in my family. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. Whether you are a young parent, a struggling single mother, or a father dealing with wayward children, don’t lose hope. Your efforts are not in vain.
It’s Your Story
Someone once criticized me for saying “I” too much. But this is my story. It’s my song, and I will continue to praise my Savior all day long. I hope my story encourages you to keep fighting for your family.

We also have properties for sale, and I look forward to visiting the UK before Easter. If you’re interested in hosting me, reach out to my admin via the same number.
Remember, family struggles are normal, but perseverance and faith make them worth it in the end. God bless you.
Dr. Charles Apoki.
