Life is a singular gift—your life is uniquely yours, even if you’re a twin or triplet. Your journey, your choices, and your outcomes are distinct. As your friend, I, Dr. Charles Apoki, want to remind you: It’s your life. Live it to the fullest.
Understand the Value of Your Life
Life doesn’t pause for anyone. If you fall today, the closest person to you will still eat breakfast tomorrow. Life moves on. The question is: are you truly living, or are you just existing?
To exist is simply to breathe in and out. To live, however, is to inspire gratitude in others, to leave a mark, and to fulfill your God-given purpose.
Equip Yourself for Life
To live fully, you must prepare early:
- Acquire Knowledge and Skills: Invest in education and personal development. I pursued a master’s degree in Public Administration at the age of 56, achieving the best result in my class. This annoyed some people, but I refuse to dim my light to make others comfortable.
- Build a Strong Foundation: Equip yourself at home, in school, and in your spiritual journey. Life is fast and slippery—hold it with a firm grip.
Be Intentional
Successful living requires intentionality. Don’t let the opinions of failures dictate your path. People who criticize you often admire you but lack the courage to emulate you. Choose your mentors wisely and avoid advice from those who haven’t achieved what you aspire to.
Embrace Your Uniqueness
You are an ingredient in the great meal of life. Like spices in a dish, your contribution adds flavor to the world. Not everyone will appreciate your aroma, but that shouldn’t stop you from shining. Some people may despise you, but your purpose is to bring value to those who appreciate your uniqueness.
Reject Conformity
Conformity can stifle your potential. Don’t struggle to fit into others’ expectations—it will only expire your originality. Be unapologetically yourself. As I often say, “Be your you, and I’ll be my me.”
Produce Results
Timid people may label you as arrogant, but results speak louder than opinions. Commentators don’t win medals; achievers do. Make some noise, let the world know you’re here, and keep producing results without seeking validation.
Love Responsibly
Love should never become a cage. While it’s important to help others actualize their dreams, don’t forget to live your own life to the fullest. You have one slot—use it wisely.
