VDM And “Missing Ngo Money” | I Know Nigerians | They Always Have a Secret File

I am your friend, Dr. Charles Apoki. Let me share a lesson inspired by a recent situation involving Very Dark Man (VDM). He claimed that funds from his NGO were missing due to a hack on the organization’s website. Naturally, one would expect sympathy or prayers for recovery. Instead, Nigerians reacted with criticism, accusations, and even curses.

This response made me reflect on something a king once told me: Everyone you relate with is keeping a file on you. Whether it’s family, colleagues, or members of your community, people observe your actions and store their perceptions—good or bad. The day you encounter trouble or provoke them, those files might resurface.

Lessons from VDM’s Experience

VDM’s case reminds us that even those you help or work with might harbor hidden resentment or jealousy. For some, your success is a constant reminder of their perceived failures. They may believe you’re taking something away from them—whether influence, opportunities, or recognition.

When you’re in a position of influence, like VDM or myself, you must be careful. People will judge your actions, question your motives, and eagerly wait for your downfall. For instance, in VDM’s case, people speculated about his finances, accusing him of using NGO funds for personal expenses. This is typical of a society that thrives on negative assumptions.

The Reality of Secret Files

As a social activist and preacher, I’ve learned that people keep files based on misunderstandings or outright fabrications. For instance, some have accused me of engaging in “blood money” rituals simply because they don’t understand my principles of delayed gratification and hard work.

Even within my family, I’ve faced criticism for my frugality and work ethic. When my wife and I started rebuilding our lives, some mocked us, saying we were working too hard. Others waited to see if something negative would happen—an accident, illness, or failure—so they could say, “We told you so.”

Staying Steadfast

In such a world, you must remain steadfast and depend on God’s grace. Pray for strength to keep running your race without falling. As you succeed, be cautious about who you allow into your circle. Understand that not everyone celebrating you genuinely supports you.

When people reveal snippets of their “files” on you—whether out of anger, jealousy, or drunken honesty—don’t be discouraged. Remember, even Jesus faced betrayal from someone within His inner circle.

My Prayer for VDM

I pray that VDM emerges from his current challenges with his integrity intact. His work is important, and setbacks like this shouldn’t derail his mission.

Final Thoughts

To anyone in a position of influence, remember:

  • People are watching you.
  • Some are quietly hoping for your downfall.
  • Depend on God for guidance and protection.

Stay focused, avoid unnecessary controversies, and keep doing good. And for those keeping files on me—you go tire!

God bless you.
