Call Your Papas and Daddy GOs to Order | Currency and Political Prophecies Are Disgusting

Today, I speak with a heavy heart. The state of the church has become deeply troubling. It seems some spiritual leaders, once the moral compass of society, have morphed into political speculators, currency prophets, and purveyors of misinformation. This is unacceptable. The church is the body of Christ, not a platform for manipulation or misdirection.

Let me clarify: I am not here to attack individuals. We all have our flaws and dark places in our lives. However, when a cancer begins to grow in the body of Christ, we must call it out. Ignoring it only leads to greater harm. Today, the title of this message is clear: Call Your Papas and Daddy GOs to Order.

Political Speculation and False Prophecies

When did pastors become political analysts? Some have falsely claimed divine revelations about election outcomes, saying, “God told me Trump would win” or “The Lord said the naira will equal the dollar.” These are blatant lies. In the Old Testament, false prophets were stoned for such deception. While we no longer live under those laws, it is shameful to invoke God’s name for predictions that fail.

Such actions are not only dishonest but deeply damaging to the credibility of the church. Leaders who speculate on currency or politics under the guise of prophecy undermine the integrity of the gospel. The Bible warns against taking God’s name in vain. If God truly speaks, His words come to pass. When they do not, it is not God who fails—it is the false prophet.

The Roots of the Problem

This obsession with being called Papa or Daddy GO fosters a dangerous culture of idolatry. The idea of spiritual leaders being above correction mirrors the authoritarian mindset of some African political leaders. Such grandiosity blinds them to reality and silences younger voices that could bring much-needed accountability and innovation to the church.

The church should be a place of growth, mentorship, and multiplication. Leaders are called to build others, not to center everything around themselves. Sadly, many leaders manipulate their followers, keeping them dependent and uninformed.

Economic Realities vs. Empty Declarations

Let’s address the currency issue. Some pastors claim that their prayers alone have influenced exchange rates or economic stability. Such claims insult the intelligence of their followers. Economies are built on sound policies, productive industries, and innovation—not prayer alone. Prayer is vital for spiritual empowerment, but it cannot replace strategic thinking and hard work.

The Japanese, Chinese, and Singaporean economies were not built by prayer crusades but by intentional policies and diligent effort. If our leaders educated their congregations on these principles instead of offering false hope, we would see real transformation.

A Call to Action

I urge those close to our spiritual leaders: call them to order. Do not let them bring further disgrace to the body of Christ. We are in a new era, where information is accessible, and people are more knowledgeable. The days of unquestioned reverence for unverified declarations are over.

To my readers: do not let the misbehavior of leaders drive you away from your faith. Christ remains the foundation. If a leader ceases to follow Christ, you are not obligated to follow them. As Paul said, “Follow me as I follow Christ.”

My Journey and Commitment
