A Heartwarming Reunion: 42 Years Later, A Testimony to Lasting Friendship and God’s Faithfulness
Can we meet, man? Yes, my name is Mrs. Florence.
We haven’t seen each other for many years, roughly 42 years ago. Can you imagine that? 42 years ago, we were not yet married, just singles.
You remember we used to be close friends, so close that we didn’t even know each other’s tribes. We ate together, played together, and reached out to each other.
We were about 14 in number, both girls and boys. We would go from one house to another, eating and playing together. We had so much fun, and our parents knew each other.
I retired as the Chief Nursing Officer from the Federal Ministry of Defense. What were the tricks we used to play? We were so close, and we didn’t know each other’s tribes.
We would eat in one house and go drink water in another. Sometimes, we would sleep in one house and come back home the next day. The boys would sleep together with the girls, and nothing would happen. We were so truthful to each other and encouraged each other to go to school.
My advice to the children of today is to remain focused, prayerful, and keep good company. Avoid drugs and criminality, and embrace Christ. I have five boys, and God has placed them in good positions. They are lawyers, doctors, engineers, and more.
To mothers, I say be strict with your children and pray for your family. Train your children in the way of the Lord, and you will have peace at old age.
I kept a sandboard in my house that said, ‘Train your children, and have peace at old age.’ I’m happy today, and I have rest of mind. My husband and children follow me on social media.
We thank God for keeping us till this age, giving us good children, and good marriages. We may not be very rich, but we are happy.
Treasure friendship and relationships; you never know when you will meet again. This is 42 years now, and we are happy to have reunited.
I remain your friend. Dr. Charles Apoki. You are my responsibility.
