NIGERIAN LEADERS’ DOUBLE STANDARD

The most truthful Nigerian I have admired so much is Baba. Listen well: when he gave a red card to the Green Card, we re-applied for the Green Card because Donald Trump, a former President of America, has been found guilty on 34 counts. Baba has hope in the justice system of America, so he won’t apply for the Green Card again after he gave it a red card before. He wanted a permanent stay in America, but why do we find ourselves in this situation? Why do we seem to have double standards? You want to stay permanently in America because justice is not served in Nigeria, where your brother rigged elections and 25% in Abuja is no longer necessary to be president. Abuja has become equivalent to a state, and everything has turned upside down.

When someone is a Governor for a state, people come out to fight, but they say you should speak in English from 1960, not the English people speak now. When people say not to vote for Lagos, they injure people coming from America to vote, and you don’t say anything. Now that Donald Trump has been convicted in America, you want to apply for the Green Card you gave a red card before.

Why are our intellectuals, leaders, and spiritual leaders like this? Why do they have alternative plans where their children are not even here, just like mine? They pretend everything is fine with Nigeria because they benefit from the corruption. Nigeria has become a farmland to harvest, while America and the UK are places to stay. Why is this the case?

It pains me that the people we looked up to in the past have become what they are today. The younger generation does not know anything and might insult me. I am sorry for them. We need to start interrogating my generation and those that came before me, as we benefited from the best resources of this country while leaving only the bones for others to defend and support us. People say, “Know yourself,” but it’s not because Nigerians know ourselves; it’s because we lack the proper cards—white, yellow, or black.

I only have this card to speak with. Whether I am your friend or not, I don’t care. I am Dr. Apoki.
