African Youths Are Becoming Over Excitable | a Need to Be More Reflective and Sober.

There is a crucial issue affecting African youths: The increasing trend of becoming overly excitable. This trend has significant implications, and there’s a need for our youth to be more reflective and sober.

Excitement Amidst Poverty and Exploitation:

We seek excitement even in the midst of poverty and exploitation. My generation, in collaboration with the Western world, is exploiting you. Many pastors and leaders have permanent residencies in the UK and the US, while their children enjoy a comfortable life abroad. Meanwhile, they expect you to remain excited and say “Amen” to everything without questioning the reality of your situation.

A Wicked Generation:

My generation is a very wicked one. In 15 years, I’ll be 80, and I can live comfortably without needing to work. However, I am always scared for the next generation. We are exploiting you, leaving you in a state of poverty and deprivation. Criminality, as I once defined it, is intelligence looking for an avenue for manifestation in the midst of oppression and deprivation.

Entertainment Over Education:

In Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, entertainment is more enticing than education. We prioritize music, dance, and frivolous activities over gaining knowledge. This trend is dangerous. Excitement without investment leads to extinction. If you focus only on excitement, you will suffer in old age.

The Importance of Sober Reflection:

The Bible says, “Be sober, be vigilant.” African youths, particularly in Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa, need to heed this advice. Excitement without reflection and investment will lead to a bleak future. Most of the people you idolize, like musicians and celebrities, are wealthy because they invest their resources. Meanwhile, you are carried away by their excitement, neglecting your own growth and investment.

Misplaced Priorities:

We are too easily carried away by excitement. Whether it’s the latest car someone bought or a flashy lifestyle, we lose focus on what’s truly important. Excitement without substance is dangerous. You need to get an education, invest in your future, and be frugal. When you are financially stable, excitement will naturally follow.

The pursuit of excitement has led to alarming trends. Young men are on drugs, involved in reckless activities, and often end up in tragic situations. Our churches are not doing enough to target youth programs that can steer them away from these destructive paths. Instead, we argue over doctrines that don’t address the needs of our youth.

The Consequences of Neglect:

A Glimmer of Hope:

Despite these challenges, there is hope. African youths in the diaspora are setting global records in various fields, from sports to academics and business. We have bright minds among us, but those residing in Africa need to shift their focus from excitement to meaningful investment in their future.

We need to review our gospel, family values, societal values, and what we promote. Our youth need guidance and support to steer them towards a brighter future. Forget about attacking me; I’m an old man. Focus on making a difference in your life and the lives of those around you.

God bless you.
