In the first post on “Full-time or Fool-time Ministry”, we looked at how Joseph’s and Mary’s capacity for adaptability was part of the reasons they were honoured to be the earthly parents of Jesus. We also discussed how capacity and the ability to manage little opportunities would, to a large extent, determine your level of operation. The second post was on “money and message”, and “faith and wealth”. In the third post, we looked at Good Samaritan Christianity and Evangelism.
In this concluding post on Full-time or Fool-time Ministry, we’ll look at some case studies who against all odds, lived full lives.
In My Father’s House!
In the Parable of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32, there are some things worth mentioning.
The father of the son divided his wealth into two, gave one portion to the prodigal son, but he did not go bankrupt. He was not angry with the child, because he had created more wealth since the young man left.
He could organize a party impromptu without going to the market. He had enough stuff at home to immediately start a party and play music and dance.
How was Abraham feeding 318 males excluding their wives and children?
If Abraham blessings are yours, why can’t you feed fed your own small family?
And Cain Built A City
And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch. And he built a city, and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch. Genesis 4:17
In my previous post on The Deposit of God in You, God cursed Cain, a murderer, but Cain built a city.
If a cursed man built a city, do you really think that the curses and covenants of your ancestors are your problems?

I Have Plenty
“And what were all the flocks and herds I met as I came?” Esau asked. Jacob replied, “They are a gift, my lord, to ensure your friendship.” “My brother, I have plenty,” Esau answered. “Keep what you have for yourself.” But Jacob insisted, “No, if I have found favor with you, please accept this gift from me. And what a relief to see your friendly smile. It is like seeing the face of God! Please take this gift I have brought you, for God has been very gracious to me. I have more than enough.” And because Jacob insisted, Esau finally accepted the gift. Genesis 33:8-11
In the series on The Spirit of Esau, Jacob bought Esau’s birthright. Jacob collected Esau’s blessing and fled. Esau grieved his parents with his bad marriages, so he did not bring honour to them.
After close to twenty years, Jacob returned from abroad hoping to intimidate Esau with wealth, but Esau told Jacob to keep his gifts, that he had plenty.
This is a man that God said, ‘Esau I hate!’
If a man who lost his birthright and blessing, and hated by God can say, ‘I have plenty’, then if you are born-again and living in scarcity, then you are a fool-time minister.
Many Christians instead of living a full-time life, are living a fool-time life because poverty, most times, is made out of ignorance instead of the devil.
